Miami Beach, FL – Music is often considered the universal language, and nowhere was that more evident than on the final day of Billboard Latin Music Week at the Faena Forum in Miami Beach. A constellation of global music icons, from the sensational Shakira to the beloved members of RBD, graced the stage, uniting under one roof to celebrate the euphony of Latin rhythms and melodies.

Shakira’s session, aptly titled “Hits Don’t Lie: The Superstar Q&A,” became a highlight of the day. The international superstar delved deep into her career’s tapestry, touching on her personal life and her craft. The audience cheered wildly as she received RIAA Platinum Awards for her hit singles “Acróstico” and “Copa Vacía.” Shakira candidly remarked, “Era menos frágil de lo que pensaba, la música ha sido mi herramienta principal,” which translates to “I was less fragile than I thought; music has been my main tool.”

Fonseca took attendees on a nostalgic journey during The Icon Q&A, recounting his journey that began in Venezuela and skyrocketed with the chart-topping “Te Mando Flores.” His live renditions added an extra sprinkle of magic to the evening. Manuel Turizo’s intimate sit-down, The Rising Star Q&A, shed light on his meteoric rise and chart-busting hits.

In a heartfelt and historic moment, RBD members – Christian Chávez, Maite Perroni, and Christopher von Uckermann – came together for a panel titled “Reviving RBD,” where they delved into their awe-inspiring comeback. Christian Chávez’s touching anecdote about the unwavering support he received, especially evident with the presence of Pride flags and his parents in the audience, tugged at the heartstrings of many.

Reggaetón’s past, present, and future came alive during a panel featuring Wisin, DJ Nelson, Luny Tunes, and Hyde. Their rich conversation on the genre’s “Golden Era” resonated with many who grew up dancing to its beats.

Outside the forum’s walls, Miami Beach pulsated with concerts, with Netflix’s premiere of “NEON,” a series set in the vibrant world of reggaetón, stealing the show. The attendees got an exclusive sneak peek into a world filled with dreams, rhythms, and aspirations before its official launch on October 19.

As the sun set on Miami Beach, the stars descended upon WhiskyLucan for A Night of Mexican Music, delivering electrifying performances that encapsulated the spirit of the week.

It was a day, and indeed a week, where boundaries blurred, and music reigned supreme, echoing the sentiments of the artists and the fans alike: the heart of Latin music beats stronger than ever, and its rhythm is truly universal.
