Last week, a new month-long art exhibition debuted at The Peach Art Collective in West Palm Beach. Hosted by First Female, the show is a vibrant display of art from 22 different female artists in a variety of mediums and many shades of pink. First Female is a community of South Florida female artists dedicated to elevating representation and advocating for local women in the arts. Bringing together the works of South Florida’s established and emerging female artists, the Pink Waves art installation aims to highlight female artists in the community by showcasing some of their incredible work. The exhibition includes Hayley Sheldon’s handcrafted birch plywood hanging art, Sarah LaPierre’s acrylic on wood art, a handmade tulle and sequined gown by Amanda Perna, Jennifer Noelle’s crochet sweet treats, unique painted canvases from several artists, and so many other amazing pieces. All the Pink Waves artwork for sale can be found here.

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month (BCAM) so what better way to kick it off than with a bright pink art show where a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Promise Fund of Florida®. Promise Fund of Florida® is a nonprofit that works to address health disparities to ensure that all women have access to timely and quality breast and cervical cancer resources and treatment. They are on a mission to help women overcome financial and cultural barriers to improve health equity and reduce deaths from late-stage breast and cervical cancer. Opening night of the Pink Waves art show included an interactive painting where guests could add their own depiction of womanhood as a way to engage and empower. This unique event brought the community together for a night of art and giving back.
