On September 4th at 6:00 PM, Ms. Esquire and the YMCA of South Florida will host a heartfelt community event to address suicide awareness and prevention. This gathering aims to foster open discussions about available resources, provide hope to those suffering, and honor the memories of those we have lost to suicide.

The event will feature incredible speakers such as Charles Coleman, Co-founder of SafeBAE, Dr. Steven Kessler, Co-founder of NeuroHealth, and a Memorial Health Behavioral Specialist. Their insights and experiences will guide a compassionate and meaningful conversation encouraging attendees to bring light and awareness to the sensitive topic.

“Our intention is to provide hope and resources to our community, bring awareness and have a candid honest conversation on Suicide prevention,” said Rahysa Vargas, Founder and President of Ms Esquire.

The South Florida community’s support is evident through the event sponsors. Memorial Healthcare System is joining as the Title Sponsor, with NeuroHealth and Recovery Unplugged as Mental Health Ambassadors, GIA Healthcare as a Mental Health Supporter, 211 Broward as a Mental Health Advocate, and the Dylan Schopp Sunshine Foundation as a Mental Health Advocate. Their commitment to mental health is truly inspiring and this event would not be possible without them.

Attendees will have the chance to connect with vendors like NAMI, 211 Broward, Florida Lawyers Assistance, American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, Hanley Foundation, Wondherful Boxes, and Annie’s Choice. These organizations will provide invaluable information and resources to help those affected by suicide as well as those wanting to learn more about what they can do to help.

“We want to prevent other families from ever experiencing this type of heartbreaking loss,” said Trisha Widowfield, Vice President of Ms. Esquire.

Ms. Esquire and the YMCA of South Florida invite everyone to join us in this crucial conversation. Together, we can promote awareness, share hope, and honor the memories of those we have lost. Let’s create a community where mental health is prioritized and supported.
