Miami Swim Week is known for producing headline-making moments, but few events capture the energy, star power and cultural influence of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show.

On Saturday, May 30, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit returned to W South Beach, the only all-suite oceanfront hotel on South Beach, for its highly anticipated annual runway event. What unfolded was far more than a fashion show. It was a celebration of confidence, athleticism, entertainment and storytelling that once again reinforced why Sports Illustrated Swimsuit remains one of the most influential brands in modern culture.

Set atop the iconic pool deck overlooking the Atlantic Ocean, the production transformed one of Miami Beach’s most recognizable luxury destinations into a global stage. Thousands of attendees, media professionals, influencers and industry insiders gathered to witness one of the biggest productions of Miami Swim Week 2026.

The evening featured the highly anticipated 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models, who brought the publication’s signature message of empowerment and inclusivity to life. The runway showcased women from diverse backgrounds, industries and generations, reflecting the evolving vision that has helped Sports Illustrated Swimsuit remain culturally relevant for decades.

Adding even more excitement to the night was an appearance from the cast of Dancing with the Stars, whose presence elevated the entertainment factor and brought additional celebrity energy to the production.

Then came one of the evening’s biggest surprises.

Grammy Award-winning superstar Lizzo delivered a surprise performance that instantly electrified the crowd. Her appearance transformed the runway into a concert-like experience, blurring the lines between fashion show, live entertainment and cultural event. The performance quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of Miami Swim Week.

Beyond the celebrity appearances, the runway highlighted an impressive collection of swimwear and resortwear from some of the industry’s most recognizable brands. Designers and labels featured throughout the show included Enez Swim, Madibu Swim, Norma Kamali, Roxy, RVCA, Vesey Swim and Watskin, among others.

The collections showcased the diversity of modern swimwear, from performance-inspired designs and surf culture aesthetics to luxury resort pieces and fashion-forward silhouettes. Together, they reflected the trends shaping swimwear as the industry continues to evolve globally.

The experience extended far beyond the runway itself. Major brand partners created immersive activations throughout the venue, allowing guests to engage directly with some of the world’s most recognizable consumer brands. Activations from Crocs, Hawaiian Tropic, LaCroix, CoverGirl, Sally Hansen and Vaseline helped transform the event into a fully immersive lifestyle experience.

That combination of fashion, entertainment, beauty, wellness and consumer engagement is exactly what has helped the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show evolve into one of the most anticipated events on the Miami Swim Week calendar.

While the runway itself was spectacular, the audience at home will soon get an opportunity to experience the event as well. The 2026 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show is scheduled to premiere as a television special on June 9, streaming on Hulu and Hulu on Disney+ for bundle subscribers in the United States.

For Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, the annual runway show has become more than a showcase of swimwear. It serves as a platform that celebrates individuality, confidence and the stories behind the women who walk its runway.

As Miami Swim Week continues to grow as a global fashion destination, the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Runway Show remains one of its defining moments, bringing together fashion, sports, entertainment and culture in a way few events can match.

If this year’s production was any indication, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit is not simply participating in the conversation around modern fashion and beauty. It is helping shape it.
