Some even warned of her association with the World Economic Forum (WEF), an organization Musk has criticized as wanting global control without public consent.

Despite the storm of criticism, Yaccarino is ready to sail. A day after her appointment, she took to Twitter, voicing her excitement to bring Musk’s vision to life and “transform this business together!” She also opened a dialogue with her new followers, emphasizing the importance of their feedback.

Yet, the barrage of critical feedback was swift. Her past involvement with the WEF and Ad Council, organizations accused of promoting state-sponsored propaganda and censorship, was quickly brought up. Calls for commitment to free speech rang out loudly, echoing Musk’s own pledge, “I am adamant about defending free speech, even if it means losing money.”

Yaccarino stands at a critical juncture, facing the challenge of regaining advertisers’ trust, who have been spooked by Musk’s approach to content management.
