**MIAMI: ** MediaLabs, a Miami-based social commerce company that connects brands with TikTok Shop creators, announced a Series A investment on Nov. 1 from an unnamed international marketplace company. The company says it will use the new capital to expand operations and strengthen its AI-driven tools for matching creators with brands, analyzing campaign performance and producing creative content.

The investor’s identity was not disclosed in the company’s announcement distributed through EIN Presswire. The exact amount invested was also not specified.

There is an important distinction in the announcement’s wording: its headline describes an “8-figure Series A,” while the body says the investment is at an eight-figure valuation. The release does not provide an exact investment amount or valuation, so those figures cannot be independently determined from the information made public.

What MediaLabs does

MediaLabs says it manages a network of more than 3,000 TikTok Shop creators. Its services for brands include affiliate campaigns, live commerce, paid advertising and broader TikTok Shop management, according to the company’s announcement and website.

In practice, that model puts the company between brands seeking sales and creators who produce product-focused content, promote items and, in live streams, can help drive purchases. MediaLabs says it recruits, maintains and trains its own creator community, rather than relying solely on one-off campaign partnerships.

The company’s announced investment plan focuses on building the infrastructure behind those services. It says the funds will support expansion of managed services and investment in AI for creator-brand matching, performance analysis and creative production. The announcement does not outline a product launch schedule, staffing targets or a timeline for the planned work.

Company-reported scale, not audited results

MediaLabs’ team page says the company’s operators have generated more than $500 million in TikTok Shop gross merchandise value, or GMV. That is the company’s own estimate, not an independently audited figure. GMV refers to the value of merchandise sold through a platform; it does not mean the same amount was earned as revenue by the company or its creators.

The team page also lists more than 3,000 creators and more than 150 brand partners. These figures, like the GMV total, are company-reported. They give an indication of the scale MediaLabs says it has reached, but the company’s public materials do not provide detailed methodology or independent verification for the totals.

The company identifies Lukas Minkov, Alex Sedlak and Ethan Price as co-founders. Its team page lists Minkov as CEO, Sedlak as founder and president, and Price as co-founder and head of content.

In its funding announcement, MediaLabs described an earlier effort to test whether a consumer product could be built through creator-led sales. The company says its founders launched the SEDLAK blue-light glasses brand in 2024 and that it has since sold more than 18,000 units through TikTok Shop. Those sales figures are also company-provided.

The company’s public account offers a view into its stated growth strategy: build experience with creator-driven selling, then provide related campaign and commerce services to other brands. The funding is intended to support that operating model, though the release does not disclose how much of the investment will go to technology, hiring or other specific costs.

A Miami gathering for the creator-commerce scene

MediaLabs’ Miami presence has also included in-person events. In a March recap, the company said it hosted the Miami stop of the TikTok City Tour at its headquarters, drawing more than 500 attendees, including brands, founders, creators and operators. The attendance figure comes from MediaLabs.

The company described the gathering as a matchmaking event intended to connect brands and creators. It also said its chief content officer, Ethan Price, spoke about user-generated content and AI. The recap named Neuro and Nello among the brands in attendance.

The event offers a concrete example of how MediaLabs is building connections around its business: alongside online campaigns and creator management, the company says it is bringing participants together in person. It does not, however, establish how many local companies operate in the sector or how much of the market is based in Miami.

Miami’s business identity shares a region with tourism, real estate and the Everglades, but this deal points to another strand of local commerce: services built around digital creators and online retail. The company’s location and the event it hosted make that activity visible locally; the announcement does not claim that Miami is the country’s leading hub for TikTok Shop agencies.

What the undisclosed investor leaves unanswered

The funding announcement leaves several details open. MediaLabs did not name the international marketplace company, provide the investment amount, disclose the terms of the round or say whether the investor will take an operational role. The release also does not specify how much of the proceeds will be dedicated to AI development versus expanding managed services.

That makes the round a notable funding announcement, but not a complete picture of the deal. The company has stated its intended uses for the capital and described the infrastructure it plans to improve; more detailed information will depend on what the company or investor chooses to disclose.

For now, the clearest takeaway is the business MediaLabs says it is building: a managed network of TikTok Shop creators, paired with campaign services and tools intended to help brands connect creator content to sales. The size and identity of the backer remain undisclosed.
