Cartier has officially reopened its newly redesigned and expanded flagship boutique in the heart of the Miami Design District, a neighborhood celebrated for its creativity, culture, and craftsmanship.
Located at 147 NE 39th Street, the flagship showcases Cartier’s most iconic creations, from fine jewelry and watches to leather goods, fragrances, and accessories. Much like Miami itself, the space is built on a foundation of constant reinvention, cultural immersion, and exceptional service that exceeds expectations.
As visitors approach, they are welcomed by a striking façade designed by Diller Scofidio + Renfro, long-time collaborators of Cartier. Elizabeth Diller, Founding Partner of the firm, explains, “It’s a privilege to continue our dialogue with Cartier through Miami’s flagship. The wraparound façade in undulating glass draws in passersby while connecting the store to the street. Etched with a pattern inspired by a 1909 Cartier brooch, the surface creates a diaphanous effect, offering glimpses inside while maintaining an air of mystery.”
Stepping through the doors, guests enter what interior designer Laura Gonzalez calls a “supernatural oasis.” The design draws from Miami’s lush natural landscape and cultural heritage, blending tropical colors, rich textures, and motifs that reflect the flora and fauna often celebrated in Cartier’s designs.
Each floor is connected by an elegant seashell-shaped staircase that serves as both a centerpiece and a tribute to Miami’s coastal beauty. The first floor features columns wrapped in climbing leaf motifs, while organic shapes and vibrant tones define the ground level. The rooftop terrace completes the experience, opening to the sunshine and surrounded by lush greenery and vivid tiles, echoing Miami’s joyful, artistic energy.
“I imagined the store as a sensory journey,” says Gonzalez. “Each area offers a different emotion — vitality at the entrance, intimacy in the VIP lounges, and conviviality on the terrace with its flowing, custom-made benches. The entire space is designed as a succession of landscapes that inspire curiosity and wonder.”
The Cartier Miami Design District boutique is open Monday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
